Fantastic food and attentive service. I had been reluctant to try it because of my tendency to prejudge by signage...I need to stop that. Full of locals which is usually a good sign. Loved everything I had. Will definitely be back.

This is my favorite place ever!! Honestly the best sushi I have ever had!! The baked salmon in my absolute favorite. Been going there for years!! Amazing people and food :)

The best sushi in Santa Fe without a doubt. The fish is fresh and the flavors fantastic. Great service as well as at reasonable prices.

Went to Masa Sushi today for lunch with a bunch of folks from work who had been there before. They all seemed to enjoy it, but I found it to be pretty meh. We came in at noon on a Friday and were the only people in the entire place. For the whole duration of lunch. Not generally a good sign. The miso soup was extremely bland and their non-sushi menu is very limited. The vegetable tempura we had was passable but again very bland. The sushi itself was at best just okay. I'm half-Japanese myself and am perhaps a little bit more picky about sushi restaurants than some, but there was nothing at this place that would make me want to come back for more. What absolutely killed it for me was the bill at the end coming out to be around $18 per person for lunch. This was not even close to being an $18 meal. I really hope I can find some better Japanese spots elsewhere.

I am a native Santa Fean and have eaten at all the sushi places here in town. Masa Sushi is by far the best! My favorite is the "Ojo Caliente" roll...

Kai was closed. Went to masa. We were given huge portions of tasteless sushi and charged double without asking for it. We also drank house hot sake which we don't normally. We were charged $78 I was shocked ! Watch your bill!

My first visit to Masa Sushi was a very pleasant surprise. Located in a strip mall, one would not expect to fine such imaginative sushi preparation here. A rather non-descript interior greets you upon entering, along with a chalkboard of unusual specials. We sat at the bar and, on the recommendation of departing guests, chose the Crunchy Salmon Roll and the Veggie Caterpillar Roll, both exquistely prepared by the Thai Sushi chef. Then we ordered the Tesuque Roll, which had a crunchy Asparagus tempura and a very Spricy tuna---a tad too spicy for me. All in all, an extremely enjoable sushi experience. I look forward to returning soon. For 3 giant rolls, beers and tip, bill came to $60.

This is a solid strip mall sushi joint. Not outstanding. Not the best in town. But solid. And not over priced for what you get. We come here when we want a casual, low-key sushi night, and it's our go to for take out.

Quiet little restaurant. In fact, dead silent for most of the meal. Good service and very quick prep. The sushi rolls and tempura appetizer were ready in just a few minutes, and the food was good but not exceptionally flavorful. I do have to say the tempura was perfectly breading and still nice and fresh inside. Good place for an easy, quick lunch, especially if you're looking for inexpensive, nice quality sushi.

Based on some of the reviews of this place, I decided to try it. Sushi is very fresh and good value; as good as anywhere in California. Especially liked the special tempura asparagus avocado roll and would order it every time. Also loved the vegetarian sushi lunch special (futomaki, mushroom nigiri, kelp nigiri, and inari).

I have honed my 35 years of eating sushi in Los Angeles. The service staff at Masa Sushi in Santa fe should not be allowed to have contact with any human. They are rude to the point they dont want their best customer who spends over $5,000 per year to enjoy a meal. Beware! They will raise prices on the bill before you pay. The Thai family that runs( ruins) this place are all NUTS! Stay away! Far Away! GO to Sushi Land East , A real Japanese Sushi Bar where the real MASA is!

Hmmm. The service was nice, but the food was terrible. I mean.. they serve sushi rolls that taste like ones you can buy from a grocery store! Well, they were still a bit better than Konami's, but no.. I was so disappointed...

This is the best - or at least tied for best- sushi in Santa Fe. The rolls, soups, and noodle dishes are delicious and I have always had great service. The atmosphere is casual and, while the decor is a bit on the tacky side, the food is first rate.

We read the reviews and they were right -- excellent food, large portions, very casual atmosphere...nice sake. Who knew there were such good sushi places in the middle of the desert?

Masa Sushi has fresh sushi, it's delicious and it's reasonably priced. My boyfriend and I frequent this restaurant often. Try the monkey balls...they are the bomb!

In the Strip-mall plaza of the La Montanita Co-op: Quiet, neighborhood spot - nice for a really low-key mellow, don't-want-to-cook night out. Favorite dishes: asparagus roll - 4 asparagus tempura rolled maki-style with a big outer covering of sesame seeds yellow tail roll - basic, but very respectable edamame - basic again, but good and not overcooked I'm not into the minced fish or mayo maki rolls, but that doesn't seem to be the norm for most customers - most folks seemed to like theirs. Now, if they added a bit more background music (something odd and quirky.. Japanese techno and Thai pop?) it would instantly make this place a favorite.

I'm a vegetarian sushi fan and this place has the best in Santa Fe. The sushi chef makes a catepillar roll to die for! Yes, the ambience lacks, but the food is good and the sushi chef always treats me to something I enjoy.

It's the bad location that gives this place a bad rap, I think. But they've been around for quite a while and have a generous following of lunch people from the surrounding businesses. I walked in tonight and got my three sushi rolls in 6 minutes to go! It didn't seem overly pricey and nobody was there, but it's Santa Fe, where everyone is home by 6:00pm and everything shuts down anyways...
